The Colonial Municipal Group is pleased to announce that John Welch has joined the organization as its President and General Manager.

John comes to us with more than 30+ years of experience in the Municipal Sales and Up-fitting business, holding positions of increasing responsibility in Sales Management, Business Development, Logistics, Procurement, Purchasing and State and Local contract management. 

The Colonial Municipal Group team looks forwarding to working with all of the state and community agencies in being the premier provider of municipal and government vehicles.

In October 2014, the Colonial Automotive Group established the Colonial Municipal Group.

Since then we have guided several companies that service municipalities, and we have developed sweeping expertise about the industry. We are proud to have had a tremendous impact on the way municipalities purchase vehicles and how their service needs are met.

We are proud to have created and supposed municipality groups in the state, which now include nearly 250 cities, towns, and organizations. We have done the same for other volume pricing groups, including the Plymouth County Commissioners, MAPC, DCR, DOT, MBTA, and the Office of Vehicle Management for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Over our years servicing the needs of municipal customers, CMG has identified key issues that municipalities face because of the unique nature of their vehicles.  The Colonial Municipal Group, will continue to excel at meeting the needs of municipal and commercial customers.
